Carmen Diaz – Jusino

Principal | Business Consultant


She is a trained facilitator and program developer who for over twenty years has been working with businesses, non-profit organizations, and government agencies. She has spent her own time in the trenches, as a non-profit leader and also as an entrepreneur. She is the Vice President, Community Development Officer for BankNewport, and she is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering many strategic aspects of the Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act Program. Before joining BankNewport, Carmen was the Strategic Initiative Officer/Economic Security at the Rhode Island Foundation, responsible for leading the Foundation’s activities and grant-making for economic security. Prior to that, Carmen served in numerous roles over 12 years at the Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE). She rose through the ranks to become the Vice President of Programs and Community Development for CWE New England.

A native of the Dominican Republic, Carmen holds an Associate of Arts in Social Studies from the Community College of Rhode Island, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the Universidad del Caribe, and a Master of Science in Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College. Carmen is also certified as Economic Gardener, System for Integrated Growth® (SIG) practitioner, and Diversity-Equity-Inclusion and Belonging consultant.


Luis Jusino

Business Consultant


Luis Jusino is the Director of Community Partnerships for Skills for Rhode Island’s Future. He is involved in outreach to, and ongoing communication with, community partners for the purpose of cultivating relationships,receiving referrals for employment and training opportunities as well as providing external resources for reducing employment barriers for job seekers. Before joining Skills for Rhode Island’s Future, Luis was the Coordinator of the Third Age Program at the Diocese of Providence for over 12 years. Some of his responsibilities included: health care assistance, housing support, advocacy with clients at state and federal agencies such as the department of Human Services as well as the Social Security Administration. Luis developed his facilitation skills working as the Third Age Program Coordinator, he enjoys working in challenging community settings with ethnically and linguistically diverse participants and multiple personal and/or institutional agendas; where he partnered with community members to help plan and implement the program.

Luis holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Rhode Island, with a Minor in Nutrition, and a Master of Science in Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College.
